The tour includes all entrance fees, offical Maori guided tour and a Cultural Performance a show not to be missed while travelling through New Zealand. This is a small group tour, which allows for a more attention to detail to each and every guest. We take regular breaks for photo opportunities and restroom stops along the tour.
After pick up from your accommodation our first stop is Te Puia, Rotorua's Leading Maori Arts & Craft and Geothermal Valley. Here you will be treated to guided tour around this amazing geothermal landscape where history, culture and nature collide. Your offical Maori guide will share stories passed down through generations. Learn how the Maori people have tamed and utilised this unforgiving landscape in their everyday life's. You'll also gain an insight into features of the Maori carvings, which have deep cultural significance. Watch the master craft men at work, you can see this prestigious art form being handed down from master carvers to young trainees in front of your eyes. Also watch the flax weavers at work and interact with them as they create garments of great beauty.
You'll also be able to observe the legendary Pohutu Geyser. This is the largest geyser in the Southern Hemisphere, which can erupt to a height of 100 feet or 30 metres, this is one of three geysers in this geothermal valley. Walk through a valley, where steam rises from the ground all around you, where water boils and hot bubbling mud jumps and plop's. Learn more about the Kiwi bird, the national icon of New Zealand, a rare opportunity to see for this nocturnal bird.
You will be greeted with a traditional Maori welcoming ceremony, before taking your seats, for a show not to be missed, where the Maori's share with you songs and dance including the spine chilling Haka war dance.
