Your friendly local driver will provide a guided commentary on the island's history and culture so you get a real insider view of island life.

An Explorer bus will depart approximately every 30 minutes and the timetable has been carefully designed so that you can visit key island locations through 16 convenient stops. This means all you need to think about is where you want to spend your day discovering gourmet food, wines, beaches, bush walks, galleries and shopping amongst a backdrop of stunning scenery. With the flexibility of the hop-on hop-off tour you can stay for as long or as little as you like.

Waiheke Island is home to 30 vineyards, many boasting award-winning wines. A bit of hop-on hop-off advice would be to consider where you want to have lunch - if you'd like to dine at a vineyard we recommend booking in advance.

Head to the north coast of the island to experience the best beaches. Oneroa and Onetangi are among the popular white sandy beaches to spend the day. Waiheke also offers a number of scenic coastal and bush walks with sensational views of surrounding islands and the Coromandel Peninsula with its beautiful coastline.

Departure Point :

'Tour + Ferry' option departs by ferry from the Auckland Wharf building, customer join the bus once they arrive at Matiatia Wharf. 
'Tour Only' option departs from Matiatia ferry terminal and stops at 16 locations around Waiheke.
