If you're thinking of coming to Christchurch... do it. We can help: start with a flight and we'll be your welcoming committee on your arrival.

As an i-SITE, we are your Official Visitor Information Centre and we are a FREE service to help you book and plan your holiday.

Christchurch Airport is the second biggest airport in New Zealand and offers many international connections to help you arrive in the gateway of the South Island. Once here, you'll see stunning landscapes: glacial fed braided rivers, mountain scenery (sometimes snow-capped), patchwork fields of the plains, tussock covered hills... the South Island has it all. Our i-SITE team can help you immerse yourself in our natural landscapes and a place for you to book accommodation, activities, tours and some of the best places where you can find some delicious cuisine.

Getting out of the airport

Upon your arrival, there are a few transport options to get you to your next stop: taxi, public bus, group taxi - Super Shuttle - or shared ride services (for example Uber and Ola). Each has different cost points and pros - cons.

The cheapest option is with a Metro bus ($8.50) but you can purchase a Metrocard from our store and the rate will drop down to under $3.

Getting around the South Island

The choice is yours: you can hire a vehicle (car or camper) and self-drive;

or we can connect you with a chartered driver or shuttle service;

or you can travel by coach;

or you can catch a domestic flight to connect you more quickly to regions.

There are plenty of options available to you.

Contact us if you need some help, or if you want to see a friendly face after NZ customs... (NOTE: we take the security of our boarders very seriously).
