Maunganui Bluff Reserve
Many visitors climb up and over an ancient volcanic crater for some of the best views in the region - pass through some pristine coastal vegetation dominated by Pohutukawa. If you are doing so then there is a campsite at the end of the track where you can rest after an adventurous day of hiking. There is little in the way of facilities, however they do provide a toilet, shelter for cooking and a few taps for washing (not for drinking). The real attraction to camp here are the flat grasses, forests, sea views, and the beautiful starry night sky; it is an incredible experience to spend a night here.
