The Huia Settlers Museum
The Huia Settlers Museum was officially opened on March 10th 1984, at the heart of Huia in the beautiful Karamatura Valley. The Museum was established to collect, preserve and display items the represent the way of life of the early settlers of the Huia and surrounding districts of the Waitakere Ranges and Manulau shoreline. Also to be a reminder to later generations of how people lived and worked in those early days. Our wonderful collection includes: Maori artefacts, domestic items, agricultural tool, sawmilling equipment, marine items, photographs, documents & much more.
