Vinegar Hill Campground
Vinegar Hill is one of the regions most popular picnic and camping reserves and is located alongside the Rangitikei River, where a mighty 300 year old Totara Tree looks over the grounds as a guardian. At over 30 hectares, this is a popular spot for kayaking, fishing and walking, with nearby native bush offering nice short walks. The campsite has non-powered sites available for a small fee, as well as changing sheds, toilets, drinking water and fireplaces. The campsite itself follows the course of the Rangitikei River and is a wide flat strip of land that tapers into hills on one side, and towards the riverbanks on the other, making it a scenic spot for all to enjoy.
